Cartier Panthère - Vintage Two Tone Unisex Quartz Watch

For sale is a Swiss Made Cartier "Panthère" watch with reference number 187949, presumably dating back to the early 1990s. This iconic design features a 27mm rounded rectangular case with solid gold bezel. Behind the sapphire crystal sits a matte creamy off-white/champagne dial with typical Cartier black Roman numerals and a so-called railroad minute track. Blued steel hands indicate the time, and a date window can be found at the 5 O'clock position. The date can be quick-set using the crown, which is original and features the trademark blue sapphire cabochon stone. Inside, we find a Swiss Made Cartier Calibre 687, a high quality quartz movement with 7 jewels.

The example sold here has been worn, but is still in good condition. You will find normal wear marks on the case and bracelet when closely examining the watch, but no coarse damage. The watch is unpolished and therefore in original shape, with sharp lines and edges. The sapphire crystal looks unscathed to the naked eye. Please study the pictures in this listing well: they show the watch in the condition that it is in, with no digital enhancements to make it look better than it is. We are sure that you like honesty, and so do we. Functionally, the watch was checked, received a new battery and is accurately keeping time with less than 1 second per day deviation.

The watch comes fitted to its original two-tone stainless steel and 18k solid yellow gold bracelet with hidden folding clasp. Said bracelet is the more desirable "3 Row" version, meaning it has three rows of solid gold links rather than the one or two row bracelets that also exist. Please be aware that said bracelet is currently sized to fit a wrist with maximum circumference of around 16.5cm. Resizing the bracelet to fit smaller wrists can easily be done by removing some links. In order to increase the size of the bracelet past 16.5cm, extra bracelet links will have to be sourced online or at a dealership. Accompanying the watch is an original Cartier presentation box, although it is unsure whether this is the box that the watch originally came in from the factory. No paperwork is included with this timepiece.
