For sale is a Swiss Made Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date men's watch with reference number 118238, also nicknamed "President" and dating back to the year 2001. It features a 36mm 18k solid yellow gold case with fluted 18k yellow gold bezel. The dial on this particular example comes in a champagne sunburst finish, with gold tone indices and lumed pips as well as an outside railroad minute track with Roman numerals. Lumed gold tone stick hands indicate the time, and a calendar window can be seen at the 3 o'clock position through the signature Rolex lens bubble or "cyclop". Inside the watch sits a Rolex 3155 movement, one of Rolex's most highly regarded mechanical movements. The screw-down crown is original, made from solid 18k yellow gold and decorated with the Rolex crown logo. Fitted to the watch comes the original 18k yellow gold Oyster bracelet with 18k AB73858 end links and 73858 clasp.
The example sold here has been worn throughout its life, but is still in lovely overall condition considering its age. The dial is looking really clean, with crisp text and undamaged finish. You will find some minor wear marks on both the case and bracelet. Said case has been cleaned entirely, but left unpolished to maintain its sharp edges, curves and original finish. Functionally, the watch comes without service history but has been thoroughly checked and is working perfectly within Chronometer specification.
The watch comes with its original inner box, as well as its paperwork: the chronometer attestation, a chronometer certificate translation booklet, and a "Rolex Day-Date" booklet. The watch will fit wrists with a circumference of up to approximately 18cm, including three spare bracelet links found in the box (two half links and one full link). According to the original warranty certificate, the watch was purchased in March 2001 in France.
