For sale is this wonderful Victorian 18 K yellow gold photo locket covered with bouquet lily's of the valley/mistletoes. The front is decorated with many small and larger pearls set in a floral formation. The large pearls are the flower heads, while fine engravings painted with black enamel are the stems and the small pearls form the leafs which makes the whole marvellous. This antique pendant was made in France around the late 19th or early 20th century. In this period Queen Victoria lost her beloved King Albert, therefore mourning jewellery became more popular in this period. Because of this, a locket like this one, is a traditionally loving gift to love, honour and remember a loved one.
This locket ensures you that you are able to carry your loved once close to your heart. Especially thanks to the stunning 4grams heavy glass that can hold your beloved picture safe and clean. This glass is in turn kept in place by a gold ring which makes it easy to swap the picture you keep close to your heart. This lovely locket is marked with a French eagle head on the bail.
This dainty locket is in good condition considering its age. It has a few very small dents on the back, as clearly visible in the pictures and short movie. We love every little detail of this floral locket pendant and hope to find a new and warm home for it, where it will be treasured the way it should be treasured.
