This wonderful Gallic medal comes directly from the floral Art Nouveau period. round in shape, this lovely antique pendant represents the profile of the Gallic warrior Brennus, wearing a winged helmet, has braided hair and a stunning moustache. Brennus was a famous Gallic chief who defeated the Romans in the 4th century BC. On the back of this hollow pendant we see an elegant mistletoe branch, and some dents. From the earliest times mistletoe has been one of the most magical, mysterious, and sacred plants of European folklore. It was considered to bestow life and fertility, a protection against poison and an aphrodisiac. This round medallion is encircled with a hollow tube forming a knot on top. This rose gold pendant is tested for 18k gold and is marked with the french 'Mercury head' hallmark.
It would not surprise you that we love everything about this mighty jewel. We like the fact that the it is a light and therefore daily wearable pendant. We love its stunning details and its strong appearance. Its rose gold shine and the snow drops on the back.
