Solid gold Star burst ruby bombé ring

For sale is this lovely bulky bombé ring. This Ruby Tank ring is made in 18 k Yellow gold and marked with a French eagle head and a makers mark. This type of ring is called a Tank ring thanks to to the Tanks of the Second World War. These tank rings where mostly created during the 40's and are a perfect example of the retro style. They are heavy, voluminous and have often asymmetrical forms.

A central ball shaped form set with 9 rubies steals the show, their star like cutting gives the ring some extra sparkle. This ring and its lovely gemstones where loved before and have been worn a lot. Due to this, some of the rubies have some smaller damages like little chips off. This is clearly visible in the pictures, but note that it is not at all very visible in real life with the naked eye. We adore this marvellous ring. It is Bombastic, yet elegant and colourful.
