These blood coral comes from coral beds located in the Mediterranean Sea. We think they have been beads for at least 100 years, dating back to the time Queen Victoria was queen of England. These untreated beauties have a natural orange red colour. The older they are, the more sunlight they have already had to endure, making their colour faded and their appearance duller, just like these beads. We assume the Italian jeweller created a new necklace using the beads of an old antique necklace.
