Breitling introduced the iconic Navitimer in 1952. It became a well know ‘navigation computer’ for pilots during this period were GPS-systems weren’t used in planes yet. These GPS-systems were only introduced in the 1970’s. Thanks to the highly accurate timekeeping and slide-rule outer ring, pilots were able to make complex calculations of navigation, distance and speed. In 1955 The C-121C Constellation was the most elegant transport aircraft of all time and still bears this title today. This Lockheed Super Constellation was also known as the L-1049F. In 2003 this stunning plane was sold to Switzerland, They wanted and have restored this plane with sponsored money of Breitling. Therefor it was ‘renamed’ Breitling super constellation.
This sponsor money was brought in thanks to the sale of these limited edition super constellation watches. On the back of this stunning limited edition watch, there is a L-1049F engraved. This plane is encircled with engravings of its specifications, dimensions and engine characteristics.

It features a round case made from stainless steel, housing an 23 calibre clock mechanism which is based on the Eta 7753 Valjoux calibre with 25 jewels.
